So let’s get pampering so you can be your very own valentine!
How do you practice self love on Valentine’s Day?
If you’re in a relationship, practicing self love could look like carving time out for yourself to do an activity that makes you feel special while your significant other is at work. It could be taking yourself out to brunch in the morning but still having dinner plans with your partner in the evening. Or, even turning February 13th into a full self love day and dedicating the 14th to your significant other!
If you’re single, then the world is your oyster! You can jam-pack your Valentine’s Day full of self-love activities from the time you wake up til the time you fall asleep. Feel free to create a little schedule for yourself filled with self love Valentine’s Day ideas from this post! Anything that makes you feel loved, cared for, and confident is fair game.

1. Cook your favorite meal
If you’re not cooking to impress someone else or need to deal with differing taste buds, why not cook your most favorite meal?! Make dinner all about you, even if that means breakfast for dinner!
2. Write down some self gratitudes
Make a list of all things YOU that you’re grateful for. Are you resourceful? Kind? Intelligent? Hard working? Empathetic? Take note! It could even be things that you’re grateful to be able to do.
A gratitude I recently journaled about was being grateful that my body allowed me to workout 4 days in a row. My energy levels have also improved drastically over the last couple years, and for that I am also grateful!
3. Give yourself a Valentine’s Day themed manicure

Having themed nails for holidays is always fun! You can go for pink or red, and if you want to take it one step further, you can add some nail art like heart decals (or hand-drawn hearts if you’re brave enough!). Just have fun with it and pamper yourself!
4. Enjoy a nice warm bubble bath
Probably one of the best self love Valentine’s Day ideas, am I right? And especially if it’s super cold in February where you live like it is for me, nothing feels better than a warm bath at night!
5. Relax into a few minutes of meditation
Meditation is an awesome way to ease stress and anxiety, as research shows. When I practice meditation even for 5 minutes each morning, it enables me to start the day with a clear mind and helps to ease some of my jitters!
Not sure where to get started? Headspace is a phenomenal tool for beginners, with so many quick meditations for sleep, focus, relaxation, stress, and more! You can get 14 days free with my link and check them out!
6. Give yourself a mini facial
Get out all your fave tools like face masks, scrubs, steams, or moisturizers and treat your skin! This is a great spa-night-in activity to relax in the comfort of your own home. Bonus points if you relax in the bathtub while your facial is going!
7. Make yummy Valentine’s Day treats like chocolate covered strawberries

Chocolate covered strawberries are surprisingly easy to make. It’s really just a matter of heating chocolate chips in the microwave until they’re the right melty consistency. This recipe outlines exactly what to do and has some great ideas for toppings to add, like sprinkles! You can also make brownies, cookies, or any other sweet you love!
8. Go to bed early and get as much sleep as possible
At some point during the week, chances are you didn’t get as much sleep as you should. Why not take the time to catch up on some zzz’s? Go to bed early tonight and look forward to feeling refreshed tomorrow! I know my energy levels are always a thousand times better when I get 9 or more hours of sleep, so if that’s possible for you, do it!

This is a great way to get your endorphins going, burn off penty-up energy, and have some fun! You can either dance for fun to songs you love, or there are also so many fantastic follow-along YouTube dance workout videos to try! You can start with the one below, it’s one of my faves.
10. Go to the mall and make a shopping day out of it
If you have a decent amount of time to yourself, spending that time at the mall can be a real treat! I know sometimes I forget about the mall (I mean, with so much online shopping these days, am I right?!) so when I actually go, it’s a great switch from my normal routine! And try out a new store you haven’t been to before!
11. Buy yourself some Valentine’s candy and flowers

Can’t forget about this classic way to celebrate Valentine’s Day of course! You totally deserve it, and who doesn’t look forward to a big box of variety chocolates on Valentine’s Day? I know I spend the whole first half of February thinking about it! Decorating your space with a nice vase of your favorite flowers is also sure to brighten your mood.
12. Make some time to do absolutely nothing
While this list offers a lot of fun activities, maybe you just need to simply do nothing! There’s no shame in taking a day to truly rest and have nothing on your schedule. With such a hustle-oriented work culture, a day of rest can be the greatest act of self love of all.
13. Hang with friends
Love comes in more forms than just romantic. Platonic connection with friends is also much-needed, so go show them some love! You’ll enjoy yourself in the process, too. This could be as fancy as dinner together at a nice restaurant, or even just a movies + ice cream + wine night in!
14. Write yourself a love letter
Similar to writing self-gratitudes, you can also take this in the form of a letter to express all the things you appreciate about yourself. Outline your accomplishments, your positive personality traits, the good you’ve given to others, your self growth and how far you’ve come. Take the time to connect with yourself! This is one of the most valuable self love Valentine’s Day ideas.
15. Read by candlelight

Set the mood for yourself by whipping out your favorite candle and settling down with a relaxing book. You could choose from motivational books for your self growth, or a fun fiction book. Reading is such a valuable use of time to yourself, and the break you get from screen time feels fantastic!
16. Order takeout and watch your favorite movie or series
Eating your favorite food from your favorite restaurant while watching your favorite movie/show is a great feel-good way to unwind. Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to indulge a little!
17. Put on an outfit you love but don’t get to wear often
If you’re a work-from-home type of person 🙋♀️ or just don’t get out much, you probably don’t get the opportunity to dress up often. So do it today! Get all dressed up even if you have nowhere to go, just for the sake of the fun of it!
18. Read helpful self care and self love blog posts

20. Take yourself out on a Valentine’s Day self love date
This would be a great use for that “wear an outfit you never get to wear” idea from #17. Get all dolled up, hair, makeup, and outfit on point, book a reservation for 1 at a fancy restaurant, and treat yourself!! Trust me, it’s really not as awkward as it may seem. I went out to brunch by myself for the first time ever a few months ago and I felt so independent and confident!
21. Read a book at the coffee shop

Such a sweet idea for a little self-love date during the day! Bring your favorite book or stop by the library on the way to the coffee shop, find a cozy corner, and sip your latte while you read!
