Orrrr, let’s say you’re a little less friendly with these people and need something more like self-care icebreaker activities, or activities for adults at your workplace. Don’t even sweat it, I have ideas for those as well! Let’s get to it.
21 Self Care Activities for Groups That Are Fun for Adults
These self care activities for groups have something for every adult to enjoy. Whether we’re talking about your best buddies or casual work pals, all groups can find fun ideas in this list!
Top 3 Self Care Group Activities for Adults
Don’t have time to read the whole article? Here’s 3 self care activities for groups that rank at the top of our chart and are sure to be a hit!
1. Take a group day trip
This one takes a bit of planning to organize when everyone has the same day to spare, but it is so worth it. Grab your BFFs and take a road trip to somewhere within a few hours of where you live!
This could be a trip to the closest big city, a charming small town, the nearest state park, or some place none of you have been before!
+ Bonus points if you pick up your favorite gas station snacks along the way.
2. Personal goal swapping
Goal-setting is always a great self care activity for identifying what you’re working toward and improving your personal development.
Soooo, what better way to get inspired than to get with like-minded friends who are also goal-oriented? Having a sense of community and other people to discuss goals with can help you feel less isolated in whatever journey you’re on.
You can have everyone sit in a circle and independently write their own goals down on paper. When everyone is finished, take turns sharing your goals. These goals can be for anything: wellness, hobbies, fitness, etc. And who knows, after hearing all your pals’ goals, you might even pick up a few goal ideas to add to your own list!

3. Outdoor movement
High intensity exercise isn’t everyone’s thing, but if you want to do something active that will mesh well with your group, you can plan something a little gentler like hiking or doing yoga out in nature.
Not only is this a great opportunity to stay active, but you can make this practice focused on mindfulness too! Grounding yourself in the surrounding nature is a soothing choice for a group self care activity.

4. Snack swapping
Go to the store together and pick out all your fave snacks. (You can start with 2-3 snacks per person, but the more the merrier!)
Come back home and put all the snacks in little bowls to pass around and share with the group. This self care group activity keeps things interesting because you may even discover a new snack you didn’t know you liked!
It also opens great conversation and debate about which snacks are the best and which are the worst haha!
5. Bake or cook a yummy recipe
If you want to get even more involved, you can all work together to cook or bake something delicious.
This could be a group favorite (if everyone agrees they love banana bread, go for it!) or you can be even more adventurous and try something completely new. It can feel super rewarding to chow down on something you all had a part in creating!
6. Have the best Instagram-worthy photoshoot
I know I looovee getting all dolled up, picking the perfect outfit, and choosing the most aesthetic location to have photoshoots with friends! If it’s a nice day, might as well make the most of it and capitalize on the comfortable weather and good lighting.
Ideas for photo-op locations could be downtown, in a parking garage, out in nature, or out to brunch just to name a few.
7. Learn a Tik Tok dance
And hey, if the weather isn’t so nice, a fun self care group activity to do indoors is learn a Tik Tok dance!
And don’t worry, you and your friends don’t have to be dancers. You don’t even have to actually post it, but simply learning a fun little easy dance together can be hilarious and good exercise!
8. Group Affirmations
If there are 3 people in your group, give everyone 3 sticky notes/note cards. Or 4 sticky notes for 4 people, and so on depending on the number of people in your group.
On these sticky notes, write down one positive affirmation expressing something you love about each person in your group (and yes, that includes one for what you love about yourself! Self love all the way!).
After doing so, share your affirmations with the group. This is a great way to lift everyone’s spirits and show your appreciation for your besties.

9. Make a DIY Self Care Kit
Here’s a fun and relaxing self care activity for groups that adds a personal touch. You each can make your own DIY self care kit, filled with all the soothing things you’d love to have when you’re stressed.
You can fill up a basket with things like a stuffed animal, a journal, stress ball, your fave snacks, and anything else that brings you comfort and joy. I have a whole guide on ideas for creating a DIY self care kit here!
You may also want to add my printable Self Care Journal for Busy Women to your DIY self care kit. It’s the perfect tool to create the right self care routine for you, with 150+ questions to identify your unique self care needs! Grab it below.
10. Have an at-home spa night
This is a great sleepover activity or even just for spending the evening together (I don’t know about you, but I plan to have sleepovers with friends for as long as possible!).
Pampering yourselves with a spa night in is one of the most relaxing self care activities for groups. Make sure to set the mood: light some candles, play soothing spa music, grab some yummy smelling lotion, and the best face masks.
(P.S: I love this Turmeric & Cranberry Seed face mask from Kiehl’s! It’ll 100% turn out to be a spa night hit. Promise.)
11. Solve a puzzle
Puzzles are a nice lowkey chill self care group activity that you can do on the cheap. Someone in your friend group is bound to have a puzzle already, so you may not even have to go get one.
It can be relaxing to sit down together and chat as you hunt for the puzzle pieces. It’s also nice for keeping your mind engaged and busy, and distracting you away from the stress of the day.
12. Paint n Sip Wine (or any beverage of choice!)
I know there’s several professional paint n sips where you can go to an organized event for this, but you can also organize one yourself!
You can pick up some canvases, paint, (and of course wine, seltzers, soda–whatever y’all fancy!) turn on some chill vibe music, and have a wonderful relaxing time.
Everyone can either free-paint whatever they’d like, or you could choose a picture for everyone to attempt and see who’s painting resembles the picture the most (maybe they can get a prize?!).
13. Have a group stretch sesh
I love stretching in my free time and getting to chat with friends while doing so makes it even better. You can even play around with partner stretches to help your friends get a better stretch.
Be sure to stretch your hamstrings, hips, back, shoulders, and anywhere else that feels tight lately. (I think all adults can sadly relate to that struggle!).

Social Self Care Icebreaker Activities
14. Rotate your Spotify playlists
Or songs of your choosing. Humans naturally love to connect through music, so sharing songs and getting a feel for everyone’s music taste can be a great icebreaker activity for adults!
You can have these songs play as background music while you do another activity, or heck, have a dance party!
15. Read out your most recent social media post
I know, it’s a little different, but this could lead to some funny conversations. It can be fun to get a peek into everyone’s social media lives, and sometimes these posts can sound so goofy out of context!
16. Unique Favorites
Have everyone in your group share their favorite item of something totally unique that isn’t a common question. (For example: what’s your favorite type of apple? Favorite font? Favorite Bath & Body Works scent?)
Because your run-of-the-mill icebreaker questions can be boooooring. Favorite color, favorite movie, that’s overdone! Get quirky with it.
17. See where people have traveled
You can hand everyone a piece of paper and on that paper, have each person write out how many A. states they’ve visited and B. countries they’ve visited.
See who has the highest count. See who has a state or country listed that no one else in the group has been to. This is a cool opportunity to get an idea of everyone’s unique experiences!
Self Care Activities for Adults at Work
18. Have a group meet-up spot outside for breaks
If you and your coworkers are able to take your breaks together, the best way to decompress is to step outside and get some fresh air. Why not make it a group activity and get everyone to meet up for a chat out of the office?
Work can get stressful and if you take all your breaks inside your office (or worse, at your desk) you’re not doing yourself any favors when it comes to workplace self care. Being allowed time to practice workplace wellness actually makes for a boost in productivity! So it’s a win-win for both employers’ and employees’ best interests.
19. Start a book club
Get a book club going around the office! (I used to work at a library and this was amazingly do-able haha, but it can still work anywhere!). Inquire about what kind of books your closest coworkers like to read and see if there’s something you’d all enjoy.
Once you all agree on a mutually interesting book, you can check in with each other throughout the month and gather everyone’s thoughts and reactions to the book!
20. Organize a once-a-week after work outing
This is a great way to socialize and get to know your coworkers better, and being outside the setting of work can take the stress off and allow you to interact with each other more comfortably.
This could be meeting up for drinks at that cute bar downtown, grabbing a slice of pizza, or maybe dessert!
21. Suggest a summer or end-of-year work party
If your workplace doesn’t already have some sort of yearly function like this, it never hurts to suggest it. If you’re an employee, there’s only so much you can do, so asking your higher-ups for some workplace socializing opportunities is worth a try.
I know I also have entrepreneurs who tune into my blog, so if you have employees of your own, you totally have the ability to make this a thing!
And there you have it: 21 fun, relaxing, professional, and social self care activities for groups that are made for adults to enjoy! Self care is even better when shared with your BFFs, so get all your gal pals together and feel your best!
