And manifestation is essentially visualizing and believing in your desired outcome, so it’s not all “woo woo” stuff. Mindset is extremely important in psychology, and manifestation is all about shaping your mindset.

Map out your goals in a highly detailed way
By mapping out your goals into smaller, specific steps, they become less overwhelming and more attainable.
Have you heard of the S.M.A.R.T method for achieving goals? This is all about breaking goals down into (S)pecific, (M)easurable, (A)ttainable, (R)elevant, and (T)ime-Oriented pieces. This is a good formula for structuring your goals in a way that sets up concrete, executable steps for each goal.
For example, instead of just “eat healthier,” I’m going to give myself specific guidelines for what “eating healthier” means. Instead, I’ll say “eat 3 servings of vegetables a day, only buy fast food once a week, and prioritize home cooked meals for the next 3 months.”
If I just left my goal at “eat healthier,” I’d be more likely to justify the choices I make that aren’t in line with my goal. It won’t give me the structure I need. Clarity and specificity is everything here!

Deadlines can be very motivating. Not only do you want to be specific when writing down your goals, but it helps to put a timeline on them. A realistic deadline is a great way to put a healthy amount of pressure on yourself to actually get to work.
And especially when you’re working on a goal with no outside structure, the importance of setting your own deadlines is even more prominent. You may be used to school or work providing you specific deadlines, but when you’re left to your own devices (like when you set personal goals), it’s all up to you.
If you neglect the concept of deadlines for your personal goals, you’ll be much less motivated to complete them! So get in the habit of tying reasonable deadlines to your goals. Even if they’re somewhat arbitrary and you don’t have to get something done by a specific timeframe, it really does help to have structure and guidance.

As I mentioned, visualization practices are very common in therapy. They can be super beneficial on your road to success.
Close your eyes and envision yourself obtaining your degree, getting that job promotion, reaching your business goals, moving into your dream house, or anything you’re striving for. Picture the details of this event–such as the emotions associated with it, what you’ll be wearing, and what this enables you to do.
Practicing this will help you to focus and not lose sight of your very important goals!

Speak and write as if the goal has already happened
This practice is also called “scripting,” and it’s a great alternative if you find it difficult to visualize success in your own mind. You’ll speak or write about your goal, in present tense, as if it’s happening currently.
For example, instead of “I can’t wait to become a business owner,” you would write or say “I am a successful business owner. I just checked my bank account and I see $100,000 sitting in there. I’m so happy with the growth my business is seeing and I’m making more profit each day!”
Focus on the feeling and get as detailed as possible. If you fully immerse yourself in the goal you’re trying to reach, it will feel real and it allows you to become clearer about what you really want.
